Nara, Japan
with Siew Li & Jeremy
On the outskirts of Nara lies a masterpiece carved from the forest. We found ourselves walking through an otherworldly realm, full of sculptures and silhouettes born from some unfathomable dream. It’s true when Oscar Wilde wrote that “life imitates art” because we wouldn’t know whether a lived experience is beautiful if we were not guided by an intentional artistic hand. Wonder begets memory, and the memory begets longing. Out there in that forgotten place, the photographs create an art of life that takes shape.
