Life is so temporary and fleeting, we should be desperate to hold on to the simplest and quietest moments so they don’t easily slip away. When I photograph someone, I am not drawn to a hyper-beautified version of themselves. Instead, I want to pour myself into all the qualities that make them human. I want to learn about them so I can recognise the ways I look at them. To photograph a memory, we must participate in a shared experience.
