Hong Kong, 14 Years Later

Hong Kong — Some cities make space for you, even after fourteen long years. For Natt and Nikesh, Hong Kong has been holding that door open the whole time. Years ago, this was where these New Yorkers met while on university exchange. They invited me to the scenes of their own beginning and we retraced a map that existed nowhere but in their memories. The streets and stairwells that watched them become lovers before they had admitted it to themselves. In many ways I felt like I was photographing the future. The photographs representing an intersection of how two timelines meet. We remember how some things have changed but we also realise how some things have always stayed the same.
